This is one of my favorite combinations. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Essie’s Stroke of Brilliance from their Luxeffects line and once I did I was in love! I tried it layered over several different colors, and if you saw my blog post about my inspiration board then you may remember seeing the combinations that Essie choose to pair this polish with. It looks really great with this grey…it is called Evening Fog, and its from Sally Hansen’s Salon Manicure line. I normally like to wear this grey on its own and with a matte topcoat….if u have this polish, try it…it looks deliciously rebel! Check out the pics and have a
So, this is my first real attempt at doing a tape manicure. I’ve seen them everywhere and though that the kind of people who did them were incredibly artistic and creative, and honestly was intimidated by the thought of trying to do it. I had the free time today so I attempted it, and after a few tries, it came out looking great!! I am very happy with the results, and the troubleshooting process taught me what things I needed to do and not do for the next one. Look forward to seeing LOTS more color combinations using tape!
The polishes I used in this manicure were Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri in Mint Sprint, a review of which I did here…Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear in Celeb City, which was done here and Sinful Colors Black on Black. For the tape I just used regular scotch tape.
I hope you all have a fabulous day, and comments are welcome!!! I would love to know what you think 🙂
This is that super popular mushroom color that every single nail polish brand probably has a dupe of. I’ve heard people call it Greige (grey and beige) but to me it seems more mushroom. Either way its a really nice, grown-up color. One thing I haven’t mentioned before about the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line is that they have these awesome curved brushes that allow u to sweep it once over your nail and cover your entire nail. The pics below are two coats but I really only needed one.
Grass Slipper is from Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line. I LOVE THIS COLOR!!!! It is less neon in real life than it looks on pictures. It is a perfect grassy or Easter green. The color really pops on your hands! The formula was a little on the thick side, similar to the insta-dri polishes from Sally Hansen. If u apply it in two thin coats you should be fine. More pics to follow.
Such a fun color! Mint Sprint is a really pretty bright but light teal from Sally Hansen’s Intsa-Dri line. This color wasn’t easy to capture on my camera, I had to play with the settings a lot to get the color right. The formula was great, this was two coats. The Insta-Dri formula’s are normally pretty thick, and this one was exactly as expected. What I usually do is one regular layer with a really thin layer on top once its dried. This works really well for me because I end up with a really fast dry time, hence the name Insta-Dri.
Beach Sand! That’s what Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure color Nude Now reminds me of. I get the whole “manicure” idea, its supposed to be a base, polish and top coat in one. The color is very pretty, but I was not very impressed with the coverage. It came out a bit streaky. Maybe it will work better layered on top of another nude?
